*****The Patrick Mahomes Thread*****

IT ****ING HAPPENED

OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

They are all great but that final throw against San Francisco just seems to defy the laws of physics. Freakishly good and that was very early Pat.

Patrick is changing everything.
My swing and stance are still my best mimic of George Brett that I learned as a kid.

I suppose mainly because he was too unconventional. He generally wasn't seen as NFL ready. Thank God.

Unconventional, gunslinger, came from the Big 12, took a ton of risks.

I think the general consensus was there was a ton of talent there but he'd be a project, and I guess GM's just didn't want to take that risk. But Veach knew he was The One for years, and played the long game with Reid and Dorsey to make sure they got him.

We'll never know for sure, quantifiably, but I think it's safe to assume him sitting and learning from Andy and Alex for a year help him immeasurably.

K-State fan here who remembers going up against him. He got banged up against my boys, might have even left the game for a bit… It was enough to slow him down juuuuuust enough that the Cats managed to win that dog fight. In retrospect, I’m glad he didn’t get any more banged up than he did that day.

I'm not sure if I need to explain that but after that game Kevin Kietzman declared him "not a winner" and didn't want the Chiefs to draft him.

Mitch Holthus was pissed we drafted him over a corner.

Never let these crimes be forgotten

I wasn’t recalling that game as any sort of validation of that obviously ridiculous narrative - he was exactly who I wanted us to take draft night in no small part because of his toughness exhibited that game - your memory just sparked a related memory in my mind.
