They can’t get open, they drop passes in their hands, their jet sweeps are slow and terrible. These guys are not good.

Honestly, if there is any competition it would be someone not really a contender but trying to get relevant like a Cleveland.
How about the Chargers? Ravens? Lions? Saints?

You have no idea who would be in the market for that guy. You are, to quote you, "just guessing."

Because they might want the draft pick now as opposed to a comp pick they might not receive because they will be signing a bunch of guys next year.

I just went through the main contenders.

Chargers don't have WR as a need.

Lions are getting back Jameson Williams.

Ravens are loaded with weapons, so many that they can't use them all.

Saints, maybe.

The point that you missed is that we aren't competing with most teams here.

Mooney, sure. But aren't other teams going to be in on him too? And doesn't our draft status immediately put us at an inherent disadvantage?
If the Chiefs offered Denver more than the other teams in contention, I don't think they're in a position to be choosy. If they know what's good for them.

I'm figuring KC sticks with what they have and with the way the salary cap and draft work, that's how it goes.

KC is obviously competitive as it is now.

Hopefully Toney is healthy when it counts and Rice or somebody develops into a reliable option.

Which would be fine for this post season if Travis is still healthy.

But only having minimally serviceable WR's are soon going to be more problematic.

So maybe Rice becomes a truly viable WR1, but I think you still need a plan B and plan C if none of the current young crop ever amount to much more than JAGs.

Unless they're prepared to extend him essentially as soon as he's in the organization why even bother? A 2nd is incredibly steep for a half season rental of a guy that has had noticable issues with effort lately.

Edit: his 5th year was picked up and it's at a cost of just under 13 million. That changes things quite a bit. To the point I don't think we'd be able to land him without our 1st or our 2nd and more considering who else is confirmed after him. (Colts and Panthers currently)

Wait, who we trading a 2nd for?

Jeudy would have a 5th year option attached to it.

So a 3 might get it done.

Denver isn't going to dump him for a 3rd, period. They CERTAINLY wouldn't give him to us for that

It would take our 2nd, then you get into the fact that our 2 is gonna be late, but they don't have a 2nd.

So unless those other teams are willing to offer a 2 I think it would get it done.
