***The Official EMAW Repository thread***

I know there are enough of us to participate in this thread, even when our seasons inevitably go to shit.

KSU vs Western Illinois today, tip-off at 3:00 pm.

One thing I noticed near the end of the game on Friday night - we had 5 true freshman on the court, and still played sound basketball. None of them were scrub walk-ons either. While I don't think we will make a serious run at anything this year, the foundation is being laid for a solid program in the future.

Correct. Good think K-State got him early, and it looks like he's pretty solid on his commit. It's starting to show that it is a good pick-up, considering that LSU and AlaBAMA is trying to get him.

I watched espnu's pre-season basketball special the other evening and K-State got a lot of praise from their "experts". The only one I recall specifically choosing KU to win the Big 12 was Jay Bilas.
There was a lot of praise heaped on Missouri as well so I guess we'll just have to wait and see how their new players develop. EMAW

Well, Blackmon got a DUI last night..... should save us a couple TD's... or just spread them to other Cowboys...

Quote:
Report: Justin Blackmon arrested

Oklahoma State wide receiver Justin Blackmon has been arrested on a driving under the influence complaint in Carrollton, Texas, early Tuesday morning, police there confirmed to the Tulsa World.

Blackmon, who is not 21 years old, and three friends were returning to Oklahoma after attending the Dallas Cowboys game in Arlington, Texas, when they were pulled over for going 92 mph in a 60 mph zone, the newspaper reported. Former Oklahoma State wide receiver Dez Bryant plays for Dallas.

"There were field sobriety tests given on the side of the road," Dustin Bartram, the public information officer for the Carrollton Police Department, said, according to the Tulsa World. "The officer determined that there was a detectable amount [of alcohol] on [Blackmon]."

In Texas, if authorities deem that a minor has been drinking any alcohol and driving, that person is considered to be driving under the influence.

Blackmon posted a $375 bond and was released at 8:06 a.m. CT, according to the newspaper. The passengers in the car were not arrested.

Blackmon is having a huge year on the field for the Cowboys (No. 17 BCS, No. 20 AP). The sophomore has 62 receptions for 1,112 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Wonder if that means he'll be suspended this coming Saturday.

Dude was drinking and driving as a minor 3 hours away from his dorm on a Monday night at 3:45am..

If he's not suspended then OSU is a joke.

I'll bet solid coin he'll suit up this weekend. The party line will be, that all players play until they are found guilty of their infraction.
