Cut Pat Sr. some slack here. Just give the guy some probation time and suspend his licence permanently. 10 year prison time for a 3rd DWI is nuts.
Justice system in this country is inhumane with these extreme rulings.

He's an alcoholic, he doesn't care about laws.

So he's going to have to kill someone before he deserves to be taught a lesson?

Same. This guy has already served jail time for DUIs. He just doesn't care and isn't going to stop. At least buy his community a few years of him being off the road.

We should make him live in a dry county. That will stop him. Take away the liquor.

3 to 10 years, possible parole after 3. Doubt he gets it when he's first eligible. It's a travesty of justice he got so little considering how that woman died.

Ruggs got a good plea deal because the DA was afraid that the blood draw they did on him wouldn’t be allowed if it went to trial:

The Clark County (Nevada) district attorney said his office accepted a plea arrangement with former Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs III because it was concerned the central piece of evidence in its case might be suppressed. “I recognize this outcome is not sufficient to punish Ruggs for the loss the Tintor family has suffered,” Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson said in a statement issued by his office, “but there was a legitimate concern that a court would have suppressed the result of the blood draw. We would have lost the felony DUI charge. We couldn’t take that chance. This resolution sends Ruggs to prison for up to 10 years on a felony DUI conviction and brings closure to the Tintor family.”

Horrible for sure. Ruggs should be locked up for 30 years.

That started changing several years back. I’m not sure if there are any liquor stores actually in Tyler at this point, but they are in the surrounding areas of Smith County. There is even one in little bitty Troup.
