Poor people are not well enough educated in a lot of cases to know how to properly handle situations. Rich people cannot be embarrassed by their children because it will hurt there status that delivers them the money that they are more worried about that being a good parents. There are ample examples of all classes of people not having proper parenting skills. |

I know you're responding to DaFace about society actually being worse, but what do any of those things have to do with using a switch as a method of disciplining your kids?

Some people stated its 2014. It was asked, is this actually better than when our parents and grand parents were raised. You should be able to figure out the rest. |

I had no idea what a "Switch" was until tonight.
Thank goodness I have great parents. |

If more kids got the switch treatment as children, we'd have more tax revenue?

I wont argue that. We are speculating and my guess is he wont sniff jail.
Some counseling and education? Yes. Big fine? Yes. All I have argued is I dont see it as felony level abuse. There is a difference between abuse and felony level abuse. Its kind of like running a stop sign and getting a ticket or running a stop sign drunk and plowing into a church van and killing 5 people. Both times you ran a stop sign. Difference was the situation and the resulting ramifications of the action. |

My argument was that fewer people using the switch doesn't mean times are worse. You disagreed with me. So let's assume times are worse. You would say that not using the switch is partly to blame for that. It affected times being worse. Therefore, I assume that you believe a child who gets beaten with a switch is more likely to be an adult who doesn't need government programs when they become an adult, I assume because they're more responsible? I showed my work. Is this correct? |

Oh wow yeah that's terrible. My wife is a pediatric ICU doctor and has to call child protection services every once and a while. There's a special place in hell for child abusers. Clearly Peterson didn't abuse him too significantly but there is no reason to hit a four year old beyond a small smack on the butt.
