When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car.

So I'm watching my sister in law's three year old kid, he's cute but he's autistic so he's complicated to handle.
She texted and asked if he was ok, and I told her it was fine, but he was being pretty fussy. Then she responded telling me to turn on a song called baby baby by justin beiber. I was like, wtf, Justin Beieber? So I youtubed it, and as soon as it starts playing he fell into a crazy trance and sung every word of it with a smile. Then I played it for him for two more hours over and over. And he ****ing loved it. Crazy. |

Time for the quarterly lamp change. I get to spend until 5 in the morning replacing two 15,000-watt Xenon arc lamps worth around $5k-6k each. (Don't know who this moron is, but not too bright to just hold it out in the open like that. It's basically a quartz grenade that might kill you.)

So I just saw the schedule for our 17-screen theater next week. "X-Men Origins" is opening. We will have:
- 4 prints of "X Men" - 4 prints of "Hangover 2" - 3 prints of "Kung Fu Panda 2" - 3 prints of "Pirates 4" The only other films running are "Bridesmaids", "Fast Five", and "Thor". In the old days, we had giant movie theaters with one movie. Now we have bazillion-screen multiplexes all the size of a shoebox, but they play the same freakin' movie in most of them. |

Geez, tornadoes up here in New England. Weather Channel has video. A big-ass one just hit Springfield MA (fairly large city) and tore up the top of a large building, flipped a semi. Another small one just touched down around Worcester. Two large T-storm cells, one going east from Worcester to Boston and the other just below it going from Springfield through southern MA and over northern RI.

"Moonraker" is on USA. When I was a kid, the outer-space premise and scenes didn't seem so stupid.
EDIT: Although, it's interesting that the shuttle and fuel tanks look pretty much dead-on. The film was made in 1979; the shuttle was launched in 1981. I don't remember if, at the time, plans were "classified" or we all knew what the shuttle was going to look like, but they did a pretty good job on it. |
