They can’t get open, they drop passes in their hands, their jet sweeps are slow and terrible. These guys are not good.

He always seemed to perform on the field, though. He has had one of the strangest careers in NFL history.

Confidence is fine and i agree. For me, it gets to be too much to start checking every team and finding out if there are missing points that were deserving. For arguments sake, i don't disagree with the play Mahomes slid against the Jets. He could have walked in. Goal to go, while statistically strong--for some teams more than others--still isn't a guarantee.

It's just easier to deal and compare with absolutes.

I mean, look… I want to make it clear that many of us are not cynical. We know our team is great and it’s just mild philosophical differences. I also can’t argue with results being the #1 offense and winning a Super Bowl.

But yeah, as strange as it sounds, many of us believe our offense is capable of even better. And it’s because we believe in Andy and mahomes. Hell, i see it just from mild glimpses of what rashee can do that we can flat out do things this year we couldn’t last year. We hope. That doesn’t mean you don’t believe in Andy, we just think this team should tilt offense even if it means sacrificing just a peg or 2 on defense while you believe in balance. Philosophical differences.

Because here’s the other thing to reconcile. We keep talking about how our production is the same as last year and we’re still top 5. But mahomes is playing the worst football of his career. Realize that the more we insist our WRs aren’t currently a liability the more this gets pinned on mahomes. If you love the upside of the room… great, I support that too. But i won’t sugarcoat current performance. I don’t think we’re “fine” because stats look good on paper but mahomes is dancing, holding the ball for 10 seconds or heaving up Favre passes. Right now we have a wr problem way more than we have a mahomes regression.

one day we’re going to land a legit WR1. Maybe rice or Ross will be. I hope so. If that’s through relentless drafting, great. And when we do people will forgot that there was even a debate about whether they were all that needed.

It is like the Tom Brady debate. Yeah he can win super bowls and be fine with any WR supporting cast. But without a doubt Edelman made them just so much better of an offense.

And so did Moss, but I dont believe they ever won a Super Bowl with him. Did win 18 in a row with him though.

Acquiring a skill doesn't mean you're intelligent, it just means you have a skill.

The last paragraph is what I said back 200 posts or so ago. The WR's are negitively affecting Mahomes. No doubt...That's not a good thing at all.

The 2018 season has just rotted people's brains with expectations for offensive output.

Pat is completing 70% of his throws and throwing for around 2 TD's a game. Sure, they can improve, but it's why those record breaking seasons are record breaking seasons.

It's not the way it's always gonna be.

He was a first down machine. It still tears me up watching them convert 3 straight 3rd & 10's in OT to beat us.
