*****The Patrick Mahomes Thread*****

IT ****ING HAPPENED

OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

Pennington was never “great”.

He was a (slightly) more athletic version of Neil O’Donnell.

Great is strong.

But Pennington was possibly the most accurate passer I'd ever seen to that point. He was just razor precise out there.

In the right system, he could've won a championship, IMO. You put him in that sort of short passing game system that Brady ran and tell me why he couldn't have been among the top passers in the league.

He was smart, accurate and game - that will take you a pretty damn long way.

This is an interview of Pat Sr. by a Chicago sports radio show a couple of months ago. Apologies if this has been posted before, but it just popped up on my YouTube feed. Hilarious. The guy's reaction at 0:45 pretty much sums up the reaction to Chicago passing on Mahomes of every Bears fan I've ever met.

There was another team in the top ten of the draft whose GM wanted Mahomes but was overruled by their coach.
