Again, this is literally how science works. For every scientist. Everywhere. For centuries.

Taking every study at surface value is a good way of getting sucked into a bunch of bullshit. Which I suppose is accurate for some...

When someone presents a study to you calling BS before you've read it is BS in and of itself.

What the **** ever.

Dismissing a study before you read it is just ignorant.

Lmao. I didn't spout off, you misread my comment.

Your post wasn't the first time I have heard about statins and dexamethasone being useful for Covid-19

The goal of science is not to prove any position, but to collect evidence and draw conclusions based on whatever the data says... as more data is gathered and as the data changes, the conclusions change and evolve.

So, to say the first study is bullshit isn't closed minded or dismissive in the sense of "ermergerd, this totally goes against what I believe and it's not factual at all!!!" or "this doesn't matter at all in my black and white world!!"... because that's not the point of science or how science works.

Saying something that's very early in the process is bullshit is to say.... well, it's very early in the process, so take the conclusions with a grain of salt. More data will be gathered and the conclusions will be more meaningful with larger sample sizes, different sets of eyes, etc.

tl;dr: If you test 10 people in your town for Covid and 8 are positive, you aren't going to completely dismiss it and say it's 100% useless (after all, Covid is clearly in your town), but you're also not going to freak out that 80% of a sample size of 10 tested positive.
