Yes, but seeing Rankin, and LT next to his name, is still VERY SCARY no matter the context.

I ran into Blythe's dad at Ace Hardware, and he said there's a rumor that if this bitchfest of a thread reaches 1000 posts, his son will play extra hard for the Kansas City Chiefs this year!

The moral of this story is simply that with 2m of cap space, Bart upgraded the C and RG position, which is ****ing amazing. We find a LT in the draft and we are off to the races!

LT- Rankin / Tega Wanogho
LG- Thuney / Allegretti / Rankin
C - Blythe / Allegretii / Williams
RG - Long / Wylie / Duvernay-Taridf / Witzmann
RT - Remmers / Niang / Durant
It will be an interesting numbers game to see who all is on the Chiefs line next season.
Most would assume 10 players with a couple on the Practice Squad.

#76 Laurent Duvernay-Tardif – Age 30, Cap $4,750,000, Dead $6,750,000 $2,000,000 Dead with Trade after June 1
#73 Nick Allegretti – Age 25, Cap $887,988, Dead $55,976
#79 Yasir Durant – Age 23, Cap $783,333, Dead $6,667
#69 Kyle Long – Age 33, Cap $1,500,000, Dead $1,450,000
#62 Joe Thuney – Age 29, Cap $4,500,000, Dead $31,890,000
#67 Lucas Niang, - Age 23, $871,768, Dead $847,072
#75 Mike Remmers – Age 32, Cap $3,300,000, Dead $3,050,000
#77 Andrew Wylie – Age 27, RFA, Right of First Refusal $2,133,000, Dead $0
#74 Martinas Rankin – Age 26, Cap $920,000, Dead $0
#70 Prince Tega Wanogho Age 23, $660,000, Reserve/Future Contract
#61 Darryl Williams – Age 23, $660,000, Reserve/Future Contract
#68 Bryan Witzman – Age 31, $850,000, Reserve/Future Contract
#66 Austin Blythe - Age 29, $990,000 + $760,000 incentives (Cap not known yet)

Add probably a 1st or 2nd round LT and maybe one more OL in the draft.

Also if we sign a LT like Eric Fisher, Russell Okung, Alejandro Villanueva, or Jason Peters, that is one more player in the mix.

In 2018 the Rams won best OL that year. I believe Blythe was a starter. That's good enough for me.

2021 KC Offensive Line -10

Sign 1) LT Russell Okung, 2) LG Joe Thuney, 3) C Austin Blythe, 4) RG Kyle Long, 5) RT Mike Remmers, 6) (LT Draft 1st or 2nd round ), 7) C/G Nick Allegretti, 8) RG Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, and 9) RT Lucas Niang.

Of course competition where Allegretti, Niang, and early draft pick try to get into starting lineup.

Keep one of these as the 10th offensive lineman - Andrew Wylie, Martinas Rankin, or Yasir Durant.

LDT would not be as expensive to move with a trade after June 1. Chiefs could save $2.75M.

Add to Practice Squad - Darryl Williams and Prince Tega Wanogho.

Hes an average efficient center signed for a good price. Dont think theres alot to talk about but these always seem to be the best Veach moves. Dont recall a lot of hype when we got Okafor or signed Charlton who played pretty well, or when he traded Parker what's his name for Ward, or signed Damien Williams, signed Darrel Williams as a rookie free agent. You get my drift.

He has a no trade clause. The only way LDT isn't on the team this year is if he's so washed he's not worth the roster spot.

Sorry I was not clear. Thrilled about the move. Bored as hell with the arguing in circles over and over.

I had not seen that information, so went looking and you are very correct. What's the odds? Seven players have no trade contracts and Chiefs have two of them, LDT and Patrick. The others are interesting too. Jimmy Garoppolo, Jimmy Graham, DeAndre Hopkins, Deshaun Watson, and Russell Wilson.

These players can be traded, but only with their permission.

So Jimmy Garoppolo and Deshaun Watson would have some say in where they might be traded.

Maybe we trade LDT to Detroit or Buffalo to cut down on air miles?

We are about to have an all pro prince as our left tackle for he next 10 years. Thats the ultimate Veach move. Steal a perennial all pro for peanuts because Philly is dumpster fire.
