Checked out a couple of Netflix movies...
Project Power - I liked the concept, but the movie was a solid "meh" for me in spite of Jamie Foxx and Joseph Gordon-Levitt doing their best. Old Guard - I really liked this one, and it could be set up for a sequel. Charlize Theron might be an absolute kook IRL, but I do like the majority of her movies. The dude that plays her "second" could pass as Mads Mikkleson's little brother; the entire supporting cast was great. Check it out if you're in the mood for an action/shoot 'em up. |

I saw Unhinged in theaters this past weekend (they just opened on Friday for us San Diegans).
Russel Crowe was awesome as expected. A good, fun thriller type movie that's everything you'd expect it to be. The story wasn't amazing, and you won't leave the theater asking more questions or pondering the ending, but you won't leave disappointed either. It's a good quality movie, just not a GREAT movie. Would recommend for fans of thrillers and Russel Crowe. |

This is very exciting, great source material. A little leery of the producers, but looks to be a right romp!!
If it stays true to the book and the visuals in the trailer, imagine splitting the difference between straight historical and Tarantino gleeful revisionism. The author's take on the historical characters colors them a little more madcap than the encyclopedia. |

So this was a pleasant surprise. Very good suspense thriller that I'd not heard about at all.
