*****2024 NFL DRAFT THREAD - NO SPOILERS*****

Version 2024 - PATRICK MAHOMES & THE HUNT FOR THE THREEPEAT

Let's ****ing do this.

Quote:
Rules for once the draft begins:
  1. No spoiled picks in this thread, all weekend. This means that as tweets are leaking picks a few minutes before the selection is announced live, you don't post it in this thread (ex: embedded tweets), reference it in this thread (ex: Joe Slapdick says it's So and So to Green Bay) or hint at it (ex: "it's a RB!").
  2. Don't be a dick.
Otherwise, have fun, talk shit, freak out and lose your goddamned minds. It's Draft Weekend. The hot takes in these threads are so funny. I'll also be starting player threads for each of our picks as they are made, with videos and notable stats/takes in the OP. These separate threads will be made as soon as the news breaks, outside of this thread. I will link the threads below. Pure knee-jerk gold to reference in the future.

Here are our picks:

Round 1, #28: Xavier Worthy
Round 2, #63: Kingsley Suamataia
Round 4, #131: Jared Wiley
Round 4, #133: Jaden Hicks
Round 5, #159: Hunter Nourzad
Round 6, #211: Kamal Hadden
Round 7, #248: C.J. Hanson

Here is a list of the prospects the Chiefs have shown interest in this year.

If you wanna throw things at the wall and see if it sticks, do it on day three.

Again, I’m a believe in Veach guy, so I’m gonna hope I’m overreacting. But in this draft our R2 was damn valuable and we took a project, even according to the expert that someone mentioned earlier.
Day 3 guys aren't going to be the same caliber of raw athlete.

2nd and 3rd you have a chance. Later guys are less likely to pan out.

I was kind of intrigued by Tip Reiman. Not this early, though.

Yes, it doesn’t matter because every time I think some other team had a good draft we just win another Super Bowl. We have a shitty season and we win the Super Bowl. We trade the best WR in the league and win the Super Bowl. We don’t get home field advantage because we coast all year and we win the Super Bowl.

I’m sick of Super Bowls. They aren’t even exciting anymore. We just go to them and win them non-stop. It’s so repetitive. I need more.

An insider told me that they're going to switch sides of the ball in the playoffs this year, just to keep it interesting. The defensive guys will move to offense, and the offensive guys will move to defense.

Day 2 will get you high ceiling guys at premier positions who need to be developed or safer guys at less critical positions.

Unless you were eager for a safety, linebacker or guard, this is the kind of guy you get at the back of 2.

I just can't see anything to complain about at all here.

31 (63). Kansas City Chiefs (from 49ers): Kingsley Suamataia, OL, BYU

One plus is not enough here — this is a potentially franchise-altering pick for the Chiefs here at the bottom of the second round. Suamataia is a bit raw, but he has legitimate franchise left tackle athleticism and movement ability. Throw him out there and let him grow into an elite tackle. Grade: A+
