*****The Patrick Mahomes Thread*****

IT ****ING HAPPENED

OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

Not really. PPG is not the best way to identify how good an offense is, because if you have the 2000 Ravens behind you and an opportunistic defense getting turnovers you can make due.

Generally speaking IMO 3rd down conversion percentage and TD percentage in the the red zone is the best way to do it.

Case in point, that Alex Smith offense was pretty good but when shit hit the fan they couldn't convert or get it done on their own.

Is it just me or does mahomes look like he's having fun again? Something about the last year or 2... He was always exceptional but he seemed a little worn out. I kind of think this new look team has a lot to do with it too. A lot of egos left the room.

It’s his team now. It seemed like Kelce was always fine with letting Patrick take the limelight, but Tyreek had a much harder time playing second fiddle. Everyone knows damn well, and they’re all willing to accept the fact, that Patrick is the best player on the team now. I think that’s gonna make a big difference.

Less pressure on him. While Mahomes has an underrated supporting cast on passing offense when you look at importance of line, receiver depth and Kelce, the loss of Hill and other teams improving is taking pressure off of him. Even his big contract isn't so big anymore so less pressure from that standpoint as well.

And without Hill, teams probably mix up coverages on KC more often making Mahomes job more interesting. He should be able to take more deep shots down the field with teams playing less cover 2 variants. At least in the short term, it will be easier to keep the receivers happy as well.

To be fair, Booger was right. The Ravens just aren't smart enough to see it.

Nah. Booger's still wrong. I think the Ravens should leave Lamar at RB.
