*****The Patrick Mahomes Thread*****

IT ****ING HAPPENED

OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

Speaking of, I saw the replay of the @ LAC game on NFL Network a few weeks back and honestly had forgotten how many times they went for it on 4th down against us. IIRC, there were like four times they went for it on 4th, including once from their own 20 yard line, and our defense held strong most times.

It's hilarious how terrified other teams are of our offense. The Chargers, Ravens and Bills basically go for it on every 4th down because they know they have to.

That, and the fact that the defense has mostly sucked ass since Mahomes became the starter. I think that starts to change this season.

agreed,

I think this season we have the REAL pieces we were missing. DL that has people who can get to the passers and LB group than can lower boom in run game.

Oh

And not shitty safety play.

To put it in context though that was with Tyreek who took an extra defender with him. Chargers lost that game being way to aggressive because they were afraid of KC offense. Chargers will win and lose games they shouldn't because of that aggressive go for it.

A lot of people slob Josh Allen's knob for his performance in that game, but I think Mahomes was just as good. Mahomes had a bit more help with our running game doing well, but more of the Chiefs' drives yielded points and several of Josh Allen's big plays came on 4th down.

Not that a big play on 4th down isn't clutch, but I dock him a little bit for needing to go for it on so many 4th downs.

Allen played well. The Chiefs secondary also did really poorly defending Gabriel Davis. He was completely wide open on two of those long TDs, just absolutely horrid coverage.

I'm still not sure that Hughes wasn't on the take. No one touched him. He just twirled and collapsed to the ground, leaving his man wide open for an easy TD.
