They can’t get open, they drop passes in their hands, their jet sweeps are slow and terrible. These guys are not good.

Mahomes targets Rice and Ross when they're in the game. It seems he avoids Moore. He'll throw to MVS in big moments.

Travis Kelce: 11

Rashee Rice: 5
Justyn Ross: 4
Justin Watson: 3
Jerick McKinnon: 3

Pretty remarkable really.

MVS/Moore/Watson -- 7 targets on 109 combined snaps; target rate of 6.5%

Toney/Rice/Ross -- 15 targets on 51 snaps; 29.4% target rate.

That's unreal. Now I'd imagine it evens out a little bit 'per route run' but it's still gonna be a massive disparity.

It really does seem like Mahomes just doesn't have a ton of use for his ostensible 'starting' receivers.

I don't understand the point of MVS right now. Watson is basically being used for what I figured MVS would be doing.

I’m feeling that too. Mvs has better speed to clear out. But Watson just seems to have way better tools to follow through on the big hitters. I’m generally not crazy about a guy like Mvs who is on the field that often with such a low target share. Either give him more targets or just relegate him to more of a role, which I think is more his place in this offense.

At the very least I don’t think Watson and Mvs should be on the field much at the same time. And of the 2 I think Watson is way more of an every down option.

No. Saying it played a part isn’t the same as saying it is the reason.

You think I’m saying we traded for Toney as an immediate replacement for Hardman.

What I’m actually saying is that we traded for Toney because Hardman was banged up, Juju was banged up and it seemed evident that we would likely be moving on from both in the off-season anyway.

There are a lot of factors involved, as is typically the case with roster moves.

So Rice's snap count is going backwards? I realize this is likely a result of the formations and packages they ran, but that's still not ideal.

When is the point when we finally see the final rotation finally rounding into form? By around week 8 I think you really need to start seeing something close to what the offense will be looking like by year end, 2 months is plenty of time to have these guys up to speed. Ideally you have a couple of weeks (@ Denver and Miami in London) to see what the offense looks like with larger snap counts for guys like Rice and Ross (and a significant decline in snaps for MVS and Moore) and then you have the bye week in week 10 to get it all ironed out for the final 2 months of the season and the postseason.

There's a good chance that game is a shoot out, why waste snaps on players who either can't get open or are just not on the same page with Mahomes? If we're going to lose that game (which is a real possibility) I'd rather do it with the young guys who have shown that they can make plays with the limited opportunities they have gotten. It's week 9, we're going to need these young guys to step up and make plays in the playoffs, why can't they be called on after half the season?

Because showing up to play the Dolphins in London is going to get SOMEBODY on the Chiefs secretarial staff very much fired.
