Stupid Tourist Tricks

It's off to a fast start already this year! A list of incidents involving people trying to obtain the coveted Darwin Award. I will keep you up to date of all the stupid tourist tricks.

This yesterday: We thought it was cold! (this is a first)
http://www.ktvq.com/story/31975424/y...ed-it-was-cold

How this lady lived and was not gored is beyond me: Buy a Powerball ticket lady:

This from last week: Amazing no one got taken out:
http://www.krtv.com/story/31915893/v...nal-park-video

Much of the time, this is what happens: Fat guy vs Bison https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PNvTHOrTf_Y

At this rate, it should be a record year for goring incidents, Chinese tourists seem particularly clueless. So far no goring's, but it's coming.

If you have any from your area, post them up.

If you need proof that society is getting dumber, just look at the tsunami of these kind of stories we're seeing these days... seems like its at least a new story a day I'm seeing

Person X trampled and nearly killed by bison/elk/moose/bear while taking selfie in national park

Yep. Yet another reason I don't want to back there. It was bad enough before the days of iPhone zombies. Hell, I was there long enough ago that there were no internet capable phones, and the old flip phone I did have only got a signal in about ten percent of the park.

Didn't see anybody trying to take critter selfies with their disposable Kodaks.

10. Decide to paint your body with a message about climate change and do the Polar Bear swim challenge in Antarctica.

Bonus: See how close you can get to the lava eruption while on vacation in Iceland to get a great selfie
sounds like legitimate tik tok challenges. Like the "dive out of a speed boat going 90 mph challenge!"

Drive much?

Yellowstone pulls fully submerged vehicle from thermal feature in the park

Officials at Yellowstone National Park on Friday pulled a car from the Semi-Centennial Geyser near Roaring Mountain after the driver with four passengers inadvertently drove into the thermal feature.

Law enforcement rangers temporarily closed both lanes of the roadway near the accident in order to safely lift the car from the geyser, where it had been fully submerged in 9 feet of water.

After the accident Thursday, the five occupants were able to get out of the vehicle on their own, and each was transported via ambulance to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
