They can’t get open, they drop passes in their hands, their jet sweeps are slow and terrible. These guys are not good.

Moore caught the first pass of the game for a couple of yards. After the delay of game right before halftime he caught a 7 yard pass on 3rd and 15, then Butker kicked the field goal. According to the box score those were his only targets.

2 receptions for 11 yards

That's a great point. If Skyy gets additional targets, they have to come at the cost of someone else. Whose targets would/should he take? MVS?

We spreading it around, don't need a #1 even if the fans would prefer it.

Everyone gets a shot in our offense, Rice looks most reliable at the moment.

Good for Watson making the big plays!

I figured we'd get our confidence back after playing a really good Jets defense. Denver should only add to it. It's going to be fun Thursday night! Then our guys will get some much deserved time off before the Chargers game. Chargers always play us tough.

Skyy is a waste and a huge disappointment. He needs to play a lot less.

Yeah, but they relied on us having mediocre to poor defense, and bad tackle play. And they have huge injury issues.

We'll be fine.

We don't have to trust anything. We are fans on a message board. The players in the locker room need to trust. I trust our defense to keep us in games more than our offense to bail us out like in years past. Who knows that could be the recipe for success but the offense is clearly not playing as well as we should have hoped.

Mahomes has never had a defense this good. And he hasn't ever had a WR corp this bad or a TE thats 34 years old and some gimpy qualities showing up. Id be ALL for resting Kelce next week vs Sean Paytons dumbass.

The Chiefs need an elite WR, because Kelce won't last forever and Patrick won't throw perfect passes under pressure every play

I don’t care for a second what you do or do not trust. You can live your life being a miserable fan of the “it” team in the NFL coming off a Super Bowl championship that’s 4-1 because their receivers make you sad. Enjoy that.

I choose the other path and I’m quite glad you’re not following me.

Mahomes job is to get the ball to the open WR. If Skyy is open I'm sure he will get the ball to him.

If Skyy wants more targets, he needs to earn it.

According to the whoppers in the Skyy Moore thread he's open all the time. It's apparently his best trait!

I was excited to see Ross's big high point catch. That's a man beater play for the arsenal. If he's singled up outside on anybody that's a winning matchup every time you want it. He's just too big with those long arms.

Just my guess, although I think it's pretty much a lock, don't you?

Now, obviously, Skyy hasn't done much. So we're seeing Rice's package of plays grow, and he's looking viable.

And we're seeing a little Ross sprinkled in, too.

Seems to me that they like to have at least one veteran out there on every snap, two when it's an important down. I think that's sensible.

But Veach told us what the team's plan was for the young guys. It seems to me that Moore has disappointed so far, and Toney is...Toney. It also seems like Rice and Ross are seeing their packages increase. Just like we were told they would. Both have shown flashes relative to their snap counts.

My 'homer' take was always that I couldn't see Veach striking out on three big swings and a lottery ticket.

So far, it looks like maybe one swing and a miss, and three maybes.
I still think we overestimated how well our initial depth chart would hold the door open in the early stages. And we kinda assumed juju was a low hurdle. I don’t think that went according to plan but at this point who cares. The important thing is that in this game it looked like we’re making serious adjustments to something better. I won’t sugarcoat the first few games because despite winning, our pass offense should not look like that. That second half offense though… that I am happy to work with. It’s still small sample size and minnesotas pass defense isn’t good, but it’s promising. Watson and ross making plays on imperfect or difficult passes… rashee catching a td pass in extreme traffic. I’ve been dreaming of this for mahomes. Happy tears.

And it still goes back to having that primary guy. This offense looks entirely different on drives when we commit to rice eating targets. He and ross just flat out get open in ways our other WRs don’t. The Watson drives were great but i don’t think those very high risk passes are any kind of consistent formula. When rice and Ross are in you feel rhythm. Even with the drops.

I’ve always felt we have a decent cast of role players but when they have to play beyond that role we see the holes. Even spreading the ball means giving more targets than we want to. But with that primary guy these guys slide in really nicely. I love Watson not as WR1 but as an occasional big play guy. Mvs as a clear out option is great but not as an every down option. Toney in a more limited role keeps him healthier. Sorry, at this point, I don’t really get skyys role.
