Justin Watson is our best WR that's a problem! We're only scoring 27 a game!

The annoying part is that it's pretty obvious that Rice is our best WR, but if you say it's Watson, it makes the group sound worse!

Rice is our most talented WR but Watson is our producing all the other WRs and it's not even close. That's what people are talking about when they say Watson is our best receiver. Production. But you already knew that.

25, and a lot of that is because we played CHI.

But Watson isn't our best WR, he just happens to have the most yardage right now.

Of course, you could make an argument that a guy who catches a couple balls a game should never have the most yards among your WRs, but that's a different conversation. Rice has the most targets and the most receptions right now, so he should be considered the best WR.

What’s the time constraint on having to acknowledge this before we can just enjoy the Chiefs current overall success? Do the 49ers have to acknowledge they shouldn’t be this good relying on Purdy as well?

He missed about half the year. Doesn’t matter much though. There’s a reason many in this thread are pining to have him back. His injury is a huge part of the reason that Veach made the trade for Toney too. His impact was pretty substantial.

Plus, like I said, Juju would have been a 1,000 yard WR without his games missed.

We’ve had 8 active WRs this year. MVS, Toney, Watson and Moore are the only ones who were holdovers. Rice, Ross, James and Washington are all newcomers.

It’s not “effectively the same” group and having 50% of your WR room being new faces is a massive change.

Rice and Ross should have more snaps than anyone but Watson and MVS.

Save Toney for the gadget plays so he might stay on the field all year.

I'm sure if you go on 49ers forums they're also discussing things they see on their team whether they like them or dislike them. That's what this is. Just people discussing things going on in their favorite team. No one says you can't enjoy overall team success and also be critical at times.

And 49ers went into this season knowing and planning for Purdy to be their starting QB. That's hardly the situation we have with Watson. And again, this takes nothing away from what he's done so far. He's been amazing. But if he's your leading receiver, then...

LOL. This is comical. I’m dying. We didn’t trade for Toney with that draft capital to find an immediate Hardman replacement. We traded for Toney because we had 3.5yrs of team control for a young WR that had a ton of potential.

With 2 kneeldowns with first downs inside the five.

Because Andy doesn't give a shit about stats.

What, we took a knee and left points on the board in two games... You can't say WE PLAYED CHICAGO, without realizing we left these points and what it would have done to our average.

Yeah not the 23 but realistically 30 we put on a good Jets defense or the 27 today. Those don't count because it wouldn't fit your narrative that this offense is clearly struggling
