Any contract would start at the tag #, so that sounds about right.

Let him play on the tag for a year, wouldn't be the worst thing.

More power to him.....get as much as you can. Not being able to get a contract done and trying it again in a year when you're 28 has the chance to screw him over. That's especially if that knee doesn't hold up or he has a down year.
