*****The Patrick Mahomes Thread*****

IT ****ING HAPPENED

OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

Idk what’s wrong with this guy right now. He throws a horrific INT in Baltimore that he never does, then tries to run through 2 LB’s today risking injury and also fumbles the ball and then just throws a horrible duck when he doesn’t have to.

I think he’s trying too hard right now

He contributed to the loss today, for sure, though I actually didn't have much issue with the second INT. Looked like everyone was covered and he was trying to make a play.

My biggest issue was the no look on the first INT. Why the **** are you no looking there? Maybe dude's been reading too many of his headlines or something. A normal pass there probably leads to a TD on the opening drive and a completely different game.

This team in general just needs to get back to the basics. Learn how to sustain a drive against cover 2 and cover 3. At this point teams are just letting us beat ourselves.

Uh, I have the complete 180 take on this. The first pick was not on him, he was looking off the defense and was only slightly behind Kemp - still hit in the hands and he should have caught it.

The second pick… that pass shouldn’t have been thrown.

Same stuff he dealt with in college. Trash defense mixed with RB/WR butterfingers. He is feeling the pressure to do more than he should on every play because he knows the rest of the team has major flaws.

I agree he just seems to be trying to hard. Not the least worried he will get it straightened out.

Who was he looking off? There was no one within 3-4 yards of the receiver.

Patrick looked like vintage Favre today. Some great plays, with a generous sprinkle of "WTF was that?" plays thrown in. The last INT in particular was as Favre as it gets.

Oh well, on to next week.

He was the one in the moment, you’d have to ask him. But I doubt he would be pulling that stunt just to pull it.

He might have misread what was taking place but, I am fairly confident he thought it was the right move.

It was 3rd and long though. What he did was basically a 35-40 yard punt with no return. If he threw that pass on 2nd down, I'm with you.

They showed a view from behind the line of scrimmage. Looked like he was trying to fool a couple of linebackers who were watching his eyes.

There is that but, the defender was in so much open space that unless it was an “I’m throwing here expecting to be here no matter what” type of play then that is only a partial excuse.
