I haven’t read through this thread yet.
But I am ashamed to admit I got popped for a DUI almost 24 years ago in Salina, KS. Friend and I had been out and about drinking, playing pool at a couple bars, and we were on our way to a McDonald’s when I was going over some train tracks with my little car on Crawford. I accelerated a bit to get over the tracks with Mickey D’s only two blocks away. Got popped for doing 35 in a 25. Pulled over in the Mickey D’s parking lot. I blew a .154. Almost twice the legal limit. Went to jail for the night. And little did I know, my mother’s best friend, my cousin coincidentally died that evening. Mom and dad wrestled with the idea of letting me rot in jail, but my dad’s sympathy got the better of my mother’s outrage, and she scooped me up about 18 hours later. I’d never felt more ashamed in my life before that day or since. Got a lawyer, and got a divirsion, but spent a good chunk of my college graduation money on legal fees, classes, and community service. I was 24 years old, and I was always the “good” drunk driver among my peers. And I thank god that I got popped in such innocuous fashion, because I’m sure I would have continued driving drunk, being reckless and pushing my luck. Mahomes Sr needs to spend some time behind bars. For this “man” to engage in such reckless behavior at his age is deeply troubling, stupid and sad. Get an Uber at worst! But FFS, get ahold of your life! |

He's not the average Joe that spent too much at the bar and can't pay a cab. He's not some single 20-something that hasn't figured out the game yet. He's a grown man actively making his son's life harder. If you don't care about anyone else at least care about your own son. Why are you doing childish things to make his life harder?... |

Taylor Swift will pay dividends this Super Bowl. The media will be preoccupied with her and Travis, and I won't have to hear about this the whole game (as much).

It would be nice if the NFL said personal questions are off limits, considering it has nothing to do with the SB.
Why would you let this be a distraction and keep the teams from playing their best game for the biggest game. |

He should have dropped a "Do you know who I am?".

IMO, people with substance abuse issues, myself included, are drug addicts. Society tends to minimize alcohol, tobacco, weed, pharma, etc. because they are legal and make people a lot of money. i don't subscribe to the disease theory because that makes people victims of their own choices.
It sounds like Pat Sr. has issues and needs help. Punishing people because they have a mental illness (I call drug addiction a mental illness) works about as well as burning a witch at the stake. |

Can you expand on your thoughts on that? Not being sarcastic, legit curious as to why you think a grown man would lose focus on his job because his father (who doesn't live with him or even in the same state) might have to go to county for a couple years (highly unlikely it ends up being that long)? I gotta be honest, I love my dad but this scenario wouldn't take my mind off of my life for a second.
