Stupid Tourist Tricks
It's off to a fast start already this year! A list of incidents involving people trying to obtain the coveted Darwin Award. I will keep you up to date of all the stupid tourist tricks. This yesterday: We thought it was cold! (this is a first) http://www.ktvq.com/story/31975424/y...ed-it-was-cold How this lady lived and was not gored is beyond me: Buy a Powerball ticket lady: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zfk1O9_quxs This from last week: Amazing no one got taken out: http://www.krtv.com/story/31915893/v...nal-park-video Much of the time, this is what happens: Fat guy vs Bison https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PNvTHOrTf_Y At this rate, it should be a record year for goring incidents, Chinese tourists seem particularly clueless. So far no goring's, but it's coming. If you have any from your area, post them up. Last edited by Bwana; 06-08-2016 at 06:56 AM.. |

And so it starts, the 2024 touron season.....
A 40-year-old male, Clarence Yoder, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, approached a bison too closely (within 25 yards) on the afternoon of April 21, 2024, and was injured by the bison. The incident occurred on the West Entrance Road near the Seven Mile Bridge, located 7 miles east of the park’s West Entrance. Rangers responded to the area after receiving a report of an individual who harassed a herd of bison and kicked a bison in the leg. They located the suspect's vehicle near the West Entrance and stopped it in the town of West Yellowstone, Montana. Yoder was arrested and charged with 1) being under the influence of alcohol to a degree that may endanger oneself, 2) disorderly conduct as to create or maintain a hazardous condition, 3) approaching wildlife, and 4) disturbing wildlife. The vehicle's driver, 37-year-old McKenna Bass, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, was also arrested and cited for driving under the influence, interference for failure to yield to emergency light activation, and disturbing wildlife. I saw this a week ago or so and was going to post it here and then forgot.
Apparently a group of dipshits pulled a couple of bear cubs out of a tree so they could take selfies with the cubs. Lucky for them, momma bear wasn't around to administer justice. https://www.kiro7.com/news/trending/...AQ76DZJVFZLVM/ |

Nice co-opted quote - and I agree with the sentiment.
Unfortunately, the drunk and stupid demographic can only control one aspect of their condition - drunkeness. And that opportunity for control is thwarted by the other condition. Yoder is a good mennonite/amish name. These people have strayed quite a ways from their flock. I guess rumspringa could serve as a winnowing process. |

They're talking about trying to coppice it and have it re-grow from the roots and stump. Man, that's an awfully tough thing to manage. I'll be a decade before you know if it's even nominally successful. We have the Big Burr Oak out here in CoMo and it's actually quite a bit older than that one is; roughly 400 years old by most estimates. And I always get a bit nervous about the number of dipshits that go back there drinking and what not. But hey, it's been struck by lightning several times and is still kicking. Moreover, Columbia might just lynch any asshole fool enough to try to cut it down. But I have no idea what kind of surveillance they have out there. It's in the middle of nowhere but I have to imagine they have a camera on it. |

This happened the other day. Grandma got a bit close and paid for it.
https://www.eastidahonews.com/2024/0...WBZrLpK87UmkTv I also saw this shot today and they got away with it, without being tossed. Exit vehicle, leave brain behind. Last edited by Bwana; 06-08-2024 at 06:55 AM.. |
