oh, they should just go ahead and give the Oscar to the effects guys who de-aged Michael Douglas 30 years. That was incredible.

Just going to see it cuz I like Paul Rudd, previews looked pretty lame, but we'll see. Looks to have been getting rather good reviews.

i give it a solid B. Much better than I expect from such a character tbh. I also feel it would be better if i had a better audience and i didn't go alone lol

It was formulaic as hell. But The casting and writing put it above a good movie for me.

****ing Marvel. Those guys shit gold.
10 years ago, if you told me I would thoroughly enjoy a movie about a shrinking dude that communicates with ants, I would have laughed your ass out of the room. But by god they did it. And they did it within the universe with demigods, huge overreaching government agencies, super soldiers, and a guy with a bow and arrow that whips the **** out of dudes with automatic weapons and robots. Oh and don't forget the giant green rage monster. It's mind boggling when you think about it. There were a couple times where I had to shut my skeptics brain off, but all in all, it was really well done. I didn't have a whole lot of trouble believing it all. |

A nice tip of the hat to the Avengers without distracting from the flick and a good after-credits glimpse of future MCU events. Also like how they made Pym kind of a d!ck without making him a wife beater. All in all good performances, only a few inconsistencies (his mass should be the same when he shrinks or is regular size and at times they clearly forget that,) and solid mix of action and comedy like in GOTG... |

I also liked how they have a reason why not to have the Avengers fix this. Every Marvel film since the Avengers could easily been like "let have the avengers fix this."
