I just reached a limit on watching my team fail to win a playoff game, knowing it was just going to go on and on and on, forever.

And then Mahomes happened, and now I'm reaping the rewards of sticking it out through four straight decades of misery. Excuse me if I have a shit-eating grin on my face every once in a while, and all through the playoffs. I feel like I earned it. I feel like we all did.
I took a year off from CP after the Colts loss.

The Mahomes draft pick really saved me. After losing that Steelers game, there just wasn't any cause for optimism at all. We were players in someone else's story.

Didn't matter the year or the reason. Whatever the outcome, our best case scenario was being the opponent at some point in some other team's 'Path to the Super Bowl' video.

It looked griiiiiiiiiiiim.

We earned this.

I said it another thread. I gave up mod-2016 and left CP for a long stretch. I was convinced it would never happen.

**** yes, we did. We ate shit every year, over and over. And kept coming back for more, every following season. And now, we're the champions. And I don't know about anyone else, but I just wanted one. That's all I needed. The idea of a dynasty never crossed my tiny mind. That was too big a dream.

So yeah, I'm enjoying it. I'm not being a prick about it (most of the time), but yeah, I find the tears of my enemies absolutely delicious, thank you, and yes, I'll have seconds.

I knew Alex Smith wasn't good enough. I knew it in my bones. I told myself it was my last year watching futility. I wasn't going to do it to myself anymore.

Then we drafted Mahomes, and I never had to pull the trigger. I love him.

I became a Chiefs fan in January 1994 when Montana and Marty beat the Oilers in the divisional round.

They would not win another playoff game from that day until 24 years later.

We've had such frustrating and inexplicable playoff losses that they all have nicknames

The kicker who shall remain nameless.

The no punt game.

The TD pass to himself game. (aka the "forward progress was stopped" game)

The six field goals and a phantom hold game.

The Dee Ford offsides game.

and a few more that I've forgotten.

SO we are WELL OVERDUE for to dish out a few "the 28 points in a quarter game" and "The thirteen seconds game" etc. and I hope many more.

When I turn the "Prick" sign on, it's a little too hard for me to get it turned back off again.

So by and large, that's a 'break glass in case of emergency' mode only.

But I ain't gonna pretend like I haven't had to replace that glass pane a time or two...

And before your time, 1 playoff team in 17 years. The phantom holding call on Dave Szott and Lowery’s kick going inches under the crossbar. Getting blown out in Buffalo in 91 and having to watch their fans do the tomahawk chop on national TV. We deserve all this success and everyone else can suck it.

Yes, for example, all us old guys can attest how Drew Pearson blatantly pushed off on Nate Wright in the 1975 NFC Championship to catch the hail mary TD pass.

In addition to the things others have listed, we've had to endure as fans through:
The best player that was ever drafted by KC (up to that point) dying in the prime of his life
Damon Huard
Brodie Croyle
Matt Cassel
Tyler Thigpen
Tyler Palko
Tyler Bray
Brady Quinn
Herm Edwards
Todd Haley
Scott micro dick Pioli
Gum wrappers in the stairwell
A player committing a murder and then suicide in the parking lot

**** anyone and everyone who tries to downplay what we've been through as fans or who tries to steal our shine.

As a non-Kansas Citian, I've been lucky to have people in my life who know me as a Chiefs fan when times were tough. They're all probably at least a little bit jealous, and I have no clue if that jealousy causes them to root for the Chiefs to lose in situations that don't affect their favorite teams, but they do tell me how happy they are for me that I get to enjoy a dynasty like this in my lifetime. That's about all that can be expected from them, and I do appreciate it.

As for the dipshits on the internet, they must be punished. They all must be punished.

Yeah, this is the "Forward Progress Game"

But you're right. "No Touchdown Game" and the truly tested among us know exactly what you're talking about and immediately have 'Nam flashbacks of Tyreek Hill running completely uncovered up the seam.

I believe I can tell you where I was for every single one of those games (and sadly, for the last 15 years or so, the answer has been - 'at the stadium').

That shit was etched into our souls. In fact, it was less etched and more branded.
