Nothing like what some of y'all have been through. But not having a better career plan going into college. I should have gone to a bigger school with more career connections. I had the resume out of highschool for the Ivy's but I didn't even try.
At the same time, coming from a sheltered tiny town of a thousand in rural Iowa, I'm not sure I could have handled anything bigger than what I did. My college brought me along into the big world at a comfortable pace to the point that I did a study abroad in the Middle East my senior year. That definitely shaped me in a way that I'm happy with today. But my earning potential is probably permanently hampered by the school. Best and worst thing that ever happened to me. |

This. I don't know where it came from, but was a big hurdle in life until my late 20's. On the other hand, I wouldn't change anything. All of that has made me the man I am. I really don't have many regerts, at least that's what I tell my self.

I don't really believe in regrets....
I think there are either experiences in life you learn from, or experiences in life you fail to learn from. |

#1 Not taking the offer from the Durango Silverton railroad
#2 I should have finished the job in front of Bugs moms house. It would have saved a lot good people a lifetime of heartache. |

Working, and partying too much when my kids were younger. And not taking enough time to spend with them when I had the chance. You take for granted that they’ll be there forever and you can make up for lost time. Then you lose one and realize too late, that you had your priorities as messed up as your head used to be.

Not extending my post-college summer roadtrip longer. 10 days on the road after Bonnaroo in 2005 and I went home after New Orleans. So what if the engine in my RV blew, I should have hauled it to a campground with a body of water near by and set up shop for a bit. Instead, I sold it, blew nearly half of my roadtrip budget in New Orleans on all it could offer, and had my buddy from Alabama drive us home. It was a hell of a ride but I wish we'd gone farther.
