A Levelheaded Review week 1 2024

Worthy is gonna make this offense exciting again. The jet sweep really showed off his speed and the blown coverage was just beautiful to see.

Kingsley really held up well in his first start gave up a sack but overall was a good performance.

Pacheco has really upped his game - those jump cuts he uses now are just nasty.

J Taylor and his false start penalties again. Really hope he can get his early jumps worked out.

Chris Jones was feasting on a young inexperienced Ravens Oline.

The DB's didn't look as bad in this game as in the pre-season. The LB's (Bolton) were made to look silly a couple of times. I'd like to see some of the big gains cleaned up but I think a lot of that was all the time Lamar had in the pocket trying to contain him. Not super worried about it.

Connor had a couple of big hits and just missed getting an INT. I think his eyes got too big on that dropped INT and dropped an easy one.

Lamar was their whole offense and we still struggle to contain a super mobile QB - BUT I'll take making them into basically a one weapon team.

Hardman was a good choice as a PR/KR.

Juju was out there making some good blocks and almost had a TD.

Rice is gonna feast over the middle this year.

Starting the season 1-0 is great. Next week is going to be even better. I think this team is back to boat racing teams in scoring and turning them into a one dimensional offense trying to keep up.

The holding call on Mahomes big run on our final possession was weak as hell.

Definitely not a great for Mahomes. But we won.

Very happy how worthy and Kingsley played. And rice picked up from where he left off last year.

It looks like Baltimore isn’t going to be significantly improved by the addition of Henry. So that’s good. Interesting that they now have two top calibre tight ends.

I do think we are going to miss Snead, but the defence played well overall.

And most importantly, it’s always better to be lucky than to be good. That helped us last year and it helped us in this game. We won by a toe. But we still won.

It will be great when Hollywood Brown can play next week and we don’t have to worry about hardman drops.

Lot of people won’t like this but it’s the truth: Kelce looks slower this year.

He’s still good but there’s a reason Noah Gray was getting more run and Jared Wiley got a pretty decent amount of snaps too

These lines are digusting:

Rice 7/9 for 103 yards 14.7 YPC
Worthy 2/3 for 47 yards 23.5 YPC
Gray 3/3 for 37 yards 12.3 YPC
Kelce 3/4 for 34 yards 11.3 YPC
Pacheco 2/3 for 33 yards 16.5 YPC
Watson 1/1 for 25 yards 25 YPC
Perine 1/2 for 10 yards 10 YPC

The only people to get under 10 YPC were mahomes when he caught his own pass and juju who was 0/1.

That is freaking disgusting.

I don’t see how a Chiefs fan can be anything but encouraged right now.

For all of Lamar’s weaknesses, he’s still a ridiculous athlete. That negated a lot of our pass rush at times. There’s only one of that guy.

The drops and Mahomes pick cost us 10+ points. We’ll clean that up and the defense will have it easier.

This team can be special.

Theres sooo much good news to talk about tonight, but to focus on just one... the connection between Mahomes and Rice is SPECIAL

Rashee was doing a Kelce impression at times tonight, seemingly able to teleport to exactly where he needed to be... and then capitalizing on it

Rub route or slant route to the middle of the field like 5 times in a row. I think Hamilton was on him one-on-one and he had NO answer. I'm so stoked about Rice.

It makes sense to limit Kelce’s snaps in the regular season. Try to keep him as healthy and fresh as possible for the Playoffs. Unleash him when the games actually mean something.

Keep in mind one of the biggest plays in the game was an ad lib play to Kelce.
