The Dolphins aren't gonna pick 1 though...

Like lets be real, does anyone here think Carson Beck or Shedeur Sanders is going to be significantly better than Tua is?

Accept that they can't win a Super Bowl with Tua at QB, and enjoy a few slightly-above-average seasons before Tua is crushed into early retirement.

Interesting little marriage there.

Don't imagine we're gonna see anything different from them going forward. They'll be front-runners that look like world beaters when the weather is nice and the sun is shining. But as soon as the playoffs get here and teams are looking to punch them in the face and the game gets real real hard, they'll fold.
They tried a hardass in Flores, with minimal success.

It’s going to be hard to motivate players to win a SB in a party city like Miami.

I have a suspicion that Justin Herbert will always wonder what it’s like to play for a good offensive coach and the Dolphins will always kick themselves for drafting Tua over Justin Herbert.

McDaniel pondered the contract for far too long and had to call a time out before finally deciding to sign it.

Trade him to a team to get into the top of the draft and get someone who is better? I’m sure plenty of teams would have traded for him.

It would be interesting to see McDaniel’s offensive creativity with a legit elite QB (not Tua).

They might be able to win a road game in the playoffs, but it will probably have to be a team that plays indoors or is in the deep south, so that would seem to limit their potential road wins to the following:

Outdoor
Jacksonville Jaguars

Indoor
Indianapolis Colts
Houston Texans
LA Chargers

That's just 4 out of 15 other AFC teams. Playing on the road in the playoffs is difficult regardless of the weather, but this is pretty bad for the Dolphins.

The NFL has really came a long way with homosexuals. First a homo rookie QB starting and now a gay head coach being extended.

Yep, it's really easy for us to sit on our pedestals and make fun of these teams, but if we never landed Mahomes & Reid, this fanbase would have died to have a combo like McDaniel & Tua. It's all about perspective.

Another fact fans don't want to face is that a lot of these owners really don't care about winning the whole thing. The Dolphins are just happy to relevant, and if they win 10 games a year for the next 3 years and 2-3 playoff games in that time, it's considered a massive success from a business perspective.

To be fair, most Chiefs fans in 2017 were just happy the damn team finally grew some balls and took a QB in the first round. Many liked Mahomes a lot, but it was just the franchise announcing, “We’re going to actually try to win a goddamn Super Bowl.” They got an A just for effort.

If that pick in 2017 had been for a QB like Tua instead, we probably would have been just as delighted, oblivious to the alternate universe where we ended up drafting the best QB in the history of the game
