I'm all about it, yeah. He's a little longer than Karlaftis and a little bit better closing burst but otherwise very similar players. Not too bendy or twitchy. I like him though. I think the top-10 talk is overrating him but I think he goes in the first and the only question really is where. I'd say 20-31 is probably a solid range to have him in.

DT Carter fell outside the top 10 so I swooped the #12 pick for our 1st this year and next, 2nd and 7th this year, and 3rd next year. I traded down 1 spot at #167 and picked up an extra 6th next year. Basically, gave up 4 premium picks for the top player in the draft, but can probably get 1 or 2 of those back if EB gets and HC job or I trade OT OBJ next year.

#12 DT Carter
#95 OT Breeland
#133 WR Mingo
#167 S Brown
#197 HB Luepke
#220 DL Diaby
#227 LB Hayward
#250 OT Bass
#257 CB Thomas V

Ran it a 2nd time, and I like this one even better...

#15 DT Carter
#94 DE Harrison
#122 WR Mingo
#133 S Brown
#167 WR Iosivas
#197 OT Nelson
#218 DE Incoom
#220 DL Diaby
#227 DE Fehoko
#257 CB Thomas V

^That'd make for really deep DL with only C Jones making big money assuming you let F Clark go, nice talents added to the WR and DB rooms, and another swing at a mid-round RT to complete the OL.

Yikes...Traded our 1st, 3rd, and next year's 2nd to draft DE Will Anderson at #20! Watch out!

#20 DE Anderson
#62 WR Rice
#94 OT Morris
#133 WR Scott
#167 DL Pickens
#197 OT Haggard
#217 HB Luepke
#219 DL Diaby
#227 DE Incoom
#250 WR BoBo
#258 CB Wright

I doubt Will Anderson or Jalen Carter actually fall in this draft, unless they get hurt at the combine or arrested between now and then, but Q Johnston might be a more realistic target if we were to interested in trading up.

Who gave me the best four rounds?

PFF:

1. DE BJ Ojulari, LSU
2. WR Jalin Hyatt, Tennessee
3. S Christopher Smith II, Georgia
4. WR Tyler Scott, Cincinnati

NFL Mock Draft Database:

1. DE BJ Ojulari, LSU
2. OT Darnell Wright, Tennessee
3. WR Rashee Rice, SMU
4. DT Colby Wooden, Auburn

Fanspeak:

1. DE Andre Carter II, Army
2. WR Rashee Rice, SMU
3. S Brandon Joseph, Notre Dame
4. RB DeWayne McBride, UAB

PFN:

1. OT Anton Harrison, Oklahoma
2. DE Andre Carter II, Army
3. DT Keeanu Benton, Wisconsin
4. RB Eric Gray, Oklahoma

So I'm going to say the best team I got is from the PFF mock. Ojulari starts by year two, and Hyatt and Scott get major snaps by year two.

I guess Niang or a free agent would our tackle, then.

Our current roster is #1 in the league, we can go BPA and take any impact player we want. So my question would be why not a RB? I'd actually argue bc of our situation on current roster we might be most eligible to take a RB in the first like Robinson if he falls. He'd make for a really fun pick in my opinion, now.

Honestly, with 12 draft picks, and RB being arguably the most loaded position, I'm all for taking a RB on day 3 again this year.

Pacheco, McKinnon, rookie.

I wouldn't even mind round 4 because we have 2 picks in that round, but yea, preferably not until 5-7.

Messed around with various trades on PFF and got the below. I'm increasingly interested in Boutte as a WR option. As someone else said, there is a slight "this year's Pickens" vibe to the situation, though different players and different "issues". PFF let me trade up only a little way to get him, but I suspect we'd need to go up closer to 45-50. Probably the pick I'm most "meh" about is the Mauch one. Other than that the knock would be perhaps we need another DE, but in this scenario I'm assuming FA has covered DT and DE.

I probably should have swung for another RB but there you go.

31. Will McDonald IV - DE
58. Kayson Boutte - WR
95. Cody Mauch - OT
107. Gervon Dexter Sr - DI
111. Brandon Joseph - S
114. Brodric Martin - DI
122. Trey Palmer - WR
219 - Cameron Latu - TE
227 - Drake Thomas - LB
