Fury Road actually had a lot of CGI, but it was made to blend in with the practical effects. Here, yeah, I have my reservations about the spinning rear-end with the triple flail balls, but I have faith in George Miller.
I am cautiously excited about it. It has a lot to live up to but I worry that it will be more studio-driven, like Mad Max 3 was and like other movie such as Blair Witch 2 turned out to be. The presence of Chris Hemsworth doesn't do too much to assuage those fears. They should just dump a pile of money at George Miller's feet and say "Do your thing," but in my experience, movie studios like to have demands attached. |
