Chiefs signing CB DeAndre Baker to practice squad

I’ve seen this in a couple spots now, it’s early but here’s this from a NYP journalist... https://twitter.com/nypost_schwartz/...959128576?s=21

Quote:
Giants are not in on DeAndre Baker.
Teams interested: Chiefs, Bengals, 49ers and Jaguars.
This would obviously be a hell of a low risk/high reward move that makes so much sense for a team destined to pick in the 30s.

I get it because Breeland probably won’t be back next year but we got Ward, Fenton and Sneed. How does Baker fit in?

So does that mean he's capped with rookie deal salary numbers?

Acclimate Baker to the culture and coaching and you might have a legit starter by 2021.

What do we do with Sneed and Fenton then? Fenton is playing at a pro bowl caliber level

He fits in as the 2nd most talented player of that group. The starter stuff will sort itself out.

It’d be nice to go into the offseason without a pressing need at CB.

He balled pretty good against some pretty good receivers, including Diggs, Theilen, Godwin, etc. Any CB that can hang with those guys is pretty good.

He'd be cheap depth. Rehabilitate his image, win a Super Bowl get a big deal. Chiefs get a comp pick from one of the cbs when they can't afford to sign them.

Cut our shittiest person on the roster and let Veach & Spags figure out. I'm sure we'll find room for the 2019 30th overall pick.
