Whether it's good deal or not for NY depends on what he will get no matter what. I bet he can get cut in 2 years and they a free if they choose to. I doubt they just locked themselves for 4 years. Dallas wishes they had cut Dak at this point so NY probably was smarter than that. Jones is smarter than Lamar to take the money and move on.

We've seen this script before between Matt Cassel and Alex Smith. Danny dimes a dozen will get you so far, but then will get you eliminated in the playoffs.

Geno took basically 3 for 75 to stay in Seattle instead of holding them hostage, and they can still build a team around him. He showed loyalty to the organization and coach that didn’t give up on him. I’d take him 10 times out of 10 over all these other mid-range scrubs.
Jones decided to milk the Giants dry and they will not be able to surround him with the talent they need to hide his glaring flaws. Laughably stupid. These front offices don’t care about winning anything other than enough games to keep their jobs and keep the stands full. So glad we’re in a whole other galaxy. |

You guys act like the Giants had some other choice.
They just made the playoffs for the first time in over a decade and you think they're going to tear it down and start over? This is the reality of the current NFL QB market. Get used to it. I told you all this was going to happen and everybody said I was crazy. Well here we are and even I agree they're overpaid relative to their performance. But the market is set by supply and demand. There's a huge demand and there's almost no supply. This is what you get. |
