Some screwed up times when we are all rooting for a kid to have strep! Glad it wasn’t the plague, but strep is bad enough .take all the antibiotics and get him clean of that nasty stuff good luck

Yea typically I would be the normal worried parent but JFC the way they have everyone on edge now. Ironically the nurse told my Wife they can't even test for the flu right now. They are just chalking it up to Covid at least at the convenient care places.

He should start feeling better by tomorrow, finish all the antibiotics and he will as good as new. You can stack Advil/ Tylenol to control the fever if needed.

Back when I worked in the lab, my sister kept having a bad sore throat and the clinic did the strep test, which was negative each time. Well protocol at the clinic as well as our lab is that all negatives should be sent to LabCorp for a strep culture to see if a patient is positive for any of the other strains of strep that are not picked up by the test kit. Well I found out that those idiots hadn't sent any of the specimens out and so my supervisor went to the clinic to explain protocol. They had my sister come back to retest and it was neg, then they sent it out and big surprise, it came back with a different strain of strep. Had to get her tonsils removed because of the constant strep.
