A couple of years ago, I bought a little stock in Dupont.
They then promptly merged with Dow Chemical to form Dow Dupont. Then they split Dow Dupont into two stocks, one being something like Dow and the other Dow Dupont. Then they did reverse splits on both stocks and one of them got split into a different Dow stock and something called Corteva. I'm really getting annoyed at this. It's messing up my documentation big time, and I'm starting to think that this is all a trick and at some point I'll end up with some worthless stock that's absorbing all of the losses for the CEO's shell company that's hidden somewhere. I think it's done now, Rain, as they've split into 3 companies which was the plan.
I was feeling pretty good because I avoided any direct hits from the Mexico news that ended last week. Got nailed today though with the whole tech regulation news. The S&P held up pretty well for such a bad day for the 4 largest market cap stocks |

Okay maybe I was wrong about BYND. At 116 now. Shot up $17 after close on their first earnings report. Wow

They've been pimping BYND and their products on a couple different TV shows this afternoon. Looks like anyone who stayed in from the start is getting a fun ride.

BYND down 21% at the moment after a downgrade from JP Morgan.

Still reading my Technical Analysis of the Markets book. Not a lot of time, so I try to do about 10 pages every few days and review the material on a current chart.
Using support and resistance levels for basic tracking. Now learning about moving averages and how to use them to track trends for short term or long term trading. I can definitely see how a moving average helps you see when a trend is reversing course. |
