*****2024 NFL DRAFT THREAD - NO SPOILERS*****

Version 2024 - PATRICK MAHOMES & THE HUNT FOR THE THREEPEAT

Let's ****ing do this.

Quote:
Rules for once the draft begins:
  1. No spoiled picks in this thread, all weekend. This means that as tweets are leaking picks a few minutes before the selection is announced live, you don't post it in this thread (ex: embedded tweets), reference it in this thread (ex: Joe Slapdick says it's So and So to Green Bay) or hint at it (ex: "it's a RB!").
  2. Don't be a dick.
Otherwise, have fun, talk shit, freak out and lose your goddamned minds. It's Draft Weekend. The hot takes in these threads are so funny. I'll also be starting player threads for each of our picks as they are made, with videos and notable stats/takes in the OP. These separate threads will be made as soon as the news breaks, outside of this thread. I will link the threads below. Pure knee-jerk gold to reference in the future.

Here are our picks:

Round 1, #28: Xavier Worthy
Round 2, #63: Kingsley Suamataia
Round 4, #131: Jared Wiley
Round 4, #133: Jaden Hicks
Round 5, #159: Hunter Nourzad
Round 6, #211: Kamal Hadden
Round 7, #248: C.J. Hanson

Here is a list of the prospects the Chiefs have shown interest in this year.

Ladd McConkey college stats:

2021: 31 rec, 448 yards, 2 TD
2022: 58 rec, 762 yards, 7 TD
2023: 31 rec, 441 yards, 5 TD

This is your savior? This is the guy people expect to get 85 receptions, 1000 yards, and 8-10 TDs in the NFL when he never sniffed it in college? That, my friends, is called hype.
So what WR are you wanting at 32 then?

Wait till the draft. Some will get pissed your pants scared of a few guys that won't amount to shit, others will Homer every Chiefs pick, while a few others act like Veach is a complete moron for drafting "busts" and "reaches". Hold your butts!

Again, what in the everliving **** is everyone's fascination with trading down for day 3 chaffe?!? If the guy we pick at 32 is even halfway decent that fifth year option will be far more valuable than douche mcscrubbins we pick in the 5th round.

Is Douche McScrubbins related to Ladd McConkey?

More picks?

Personally, i dont want a trade down. For selfish reasons. Because i dont wanna wait until ****ing tomorrow to see the Chiefs pick, lol.

But lets be real here: The Chiefs trading down is ABSOLUTELY in the cards, and it makes a ton of sense.

Good ****ing God, I'd figured calling him McHonkey would sufficiently convey it's a tongue in cheek post.

5th year option on an OT or WR is more valuable than an extra day 3 pick.

I think it's simply because those people would feel a lot better about taking the best available WR/OT in the 2nd lol

That's....not a great answer.

The Ladd pick is in theory based on the idea that:

A) There are no quality LT's on the board
B) The Chiefs could not find a trade up partner (And if they did, it wont be for a WR)
C) Can't find a trade down partner.

Now, im not a McConkey "guy", so im having this convo with you objectively. He wouldnt be my first choice for a #32 overall WR either.

But lets just talk hypothetical here: Top tackles are off the board and we can't move from this spot. WR becomes the most logical pick. So who's that WR?

I would like it to be for a WR, but I think the smarter move would be one of the tackles.

There is a better chance that a WR at pick 64 is a starting caliber player than a LT at pick 32.
