There is not one team today who would take Watson over Mahomes. The argument of who was better was valid.

If you’re not old enough to have seen SB4 this day was probably the best day in Chiefs history for you. It was for me.

No, it wasn't then and it isn't now.
Watson is essentially exactly what 2017 Alex Smith was. I mean to the damn letter. Younger, sure, but I don't see him having the physical tools to be much better than he is now. He's faster than Smith but also has some of the worst pocket presence in the league. If you wanted 5 more years of the 2017 Alex offense (which was admittedly pretty good), Watson was how you go about getting it. Watson's average arm talent was always the reason he wasn't worth trading up for. It was always the thing that put a ceiling on him as being a slightly above average game manager. Concerns about his arm talent were always valid. It just isn't very good. |

I get that any NFL QB worth the weight of his own shit will improve his throwing accuracy overtime in his NFL career. If Watson stays healthy and continues to start, yes, he will improve his accuracy. Throwing velocity and arm strength is where I really get skeptical. QBs without the biggest, strongest arms have success in the league all the time, but is it ever because they improved that arm strength to be "just good enough" from where it was? Because that's what Watson needs to do, and I have yet to see an historical example of this taking place. In any case, where I really laugh is how people on here were excited about Mahomes having an in-conference rival, and how that rival was probably going to be Watson. Watch Mahomes play. Then watch Watson play. These fans are insulting Mahomes by claiming Watson is his rival. |

Also, I had a big smile reading the tributes to Lonewolf Ed and Saccopoo right after Mahomes was drafted.
Best moment in Chiefs history since their Super Bowl win had just occurred, and people instantly thought of those who couldn't be around to enjoy it with us. Say what you will about CP, but we're a pretty damn tight community. |

But I also stumbled upon the reason Billay is here re-litigating the 'arm strength isn't important' nonsense - because he was on the wrong side of the argument. http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showt...ghlight=Watson He was a Watson honk. So of course he's gonna sit here and try to say "no, I wasn't wrong...." when in fact the REASON he was wrong is precisely the argument he's trying to disregard. |

I mean...it doesn't feel like a tight community. Then again, you really like Herb Taylor (had to be the glasses) so maybe it was akin to you hoping that I would get a 15 minutes alone with Alexandra Daddario and you just didn't know how to express yourself. I'm sure that was it. |
