The biggest problem with the running game has been the quarterback. When the entire defense can play within 10 yards of the LoS, and you still refuse to attack beyond the intermediate zones, it makes it really hard to do anything in the run game. Make them think there's any risk that you'll go downfield, and holes will begin to open. There's just been no reason whatsoever to respect the deep passing game. Once they stop the short passing game, they've also stopped the running game.

From Peter King, who spent the draft in the 49ers draft room...

I'm going to have to say that NFLN's coverage of the draft was awful, especially Day 3. I watched it live and recorded ESPN to fast forward through to see what they had to say about certain picks. ESPN was showing player highlights clear into the 7th round (not all of them but a good chunk). NFLN maybe showed five after round 5 and spent 2 hours talking about a ****ing orangutan.
ESPN's coverage is much better without Berman. |

They also kept going out to other crews that were boring and clueless. If I had my way, the draft talk would only be about the the players selected. There wouldn't be extended coach interviews, or talking incessantly about stuff that happened in the first round while ignoring what is going on round 3, or even how all of this will fit into the team. Save all that shit for the post draft analysis shows. |

Yep....pretty ****ing annoying. Keep all of the special guest announcers in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. 4th-7th should be talking about the picks because no one knows who the **** some of these people are. Leave it to the NFL to turn this into a ****ing circus. Next thing you know....they'll take the 6th and 7th rounds and move them to Sunday.

I record both & go back & forth. ESPN was vastly superior to NFLN this year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The best way to follow the draft is via twitter and it's not really close.

One thing Mahomes/Watson have going for them that most of the others didn't is they're going to good teams...
