Im going to try and talk a friend of mine out of his old 1919 Remington model 8 in .35 Remington.
Safety is very similar to the AKs. Very cool old rifle and the 1st semi auto mass produced to the public. |

Took me many attempts and rejected orders over the past several months to actually close on a Glock 19x. Did things a bit out of order by buying a Tier 1 Concealment holster (for not only the 19x but a 19x with an Inforce APLc) back in October? so this has been a long time coming.

Actually got to do a little shooting today. Went to a private range with one of my friends.
The good - finally got to run my two newest pistols, a Walther PPQ .45 and a Sig P365XL, hard. Concealment holster/rapid firing at multiple targets. We had some steel targets as well, including a plate rack, which I hit pretty good. Probably ran about 500 rounds through those two and my primary carry CZ. That was a blast. The bad - it seems age has finally caught up with my distance vision. The AR I brought only has a MRO optic on it (no magnification), and at 50 yards, for the first time in my life the target was just a little round blur in the distance. I didn't shoot bad, but I couldn't get the consistent, tight groups I always have in the past. Kind of depressing; getting old sucks. I guess I'll be bringing the scoped AR for any sort of distance shooting in the future. All in all, though, a nice day. Cool, sunny and dry. Hell, it was nice just getting out of the house. |

I am now the proud owner of a Glock 17 Gen 4 MOS that has a Burris Reflex Red Dot optic installed. I am looking forward to zeroing in that Red Dot in a couple of weeks.

I bought a Taurus Judge first to defend myself. Then I learned to shoot and got a Sig Sauer P 238...Not the girl you want to sneak up on!

I had better than 20/20 vision in my right eye when I was younger. It was a huge advantage shooting with a rifle. As recently as eight or nine years ago I outshot my buddy who at the time was a range master/weapons instructor with Air Force security. He said that almost never happened. To go from that to now sucks.
Oh well. I'm sure I'm still better than most. |

As I grew "older" my sight began to slip away - from a kid to an old man. I have a 12X Leupold and 2 Nikon Prostaffs on my rifles. Pistols? they are for CQB anyway - 5-15 yards and not much more.
Funny thing, though. I have always been much better with a pistol than a rifle. |
