Disneyland is closing for only the fourth time ever. The other three were the JFK assassination, the Northridge earthquake, and 9/11. It's a small world after all when you have fast-moving viruses.

(No link because it's behind a paywall at the NY Times.)

So this virus came from a bat that gave it to a human during a wild animal trade show in China right?

Good deal

Some people just erroneously look at fever that doesn't respond to Tylenol or ibuprofen as a concerning sign

NFL teams continue to make changes to their business practices in light of recommendations to limit the spread of COVID-19 in the United States.

The Chiefs and Giants both announced that they will have all non-essential personnel work from home for the next two weeks. Both teams say they will continue to assess the situation before deciding what to do at the end of the two-week period.

The Chiefs also announced that they are suspending all business travel for team personnel. The Giants’ decision to do the same was reported earlier in the day.

I read somewhere that that story is apocryphal. While the article said that it likely made the leap from some animal to humans, it can't be traced with that level of specificity.

I bet Clark has a saferoom somewhere where he can stash them. It's probably some massive underground complex in Kansas that looks like a small pole barn from the ground.

All this is heresy, but her mom is pretty honest and laid back, so I wouldn't think she is over-exaggerating to greatly....

That's the theory. The outbreak in China has been linked to the Wuhan Seafood Market:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Huanan...olesale_Market

Lot's of yummy bushmeat sold there...

They do think that it was either direct eating of a bat, or zoonotic transmission from a bat-infected civet or pangolin.
