The Lakers are the favorites in the West, but the Thunder have a chance. Durant, Westbrook, Harden and Ibaka will be better by the time April rolls around. The advantage they have is they've played together for 3 years in big time situations.
The Lakers look Godly on paper, and the pieces fit together better than the Heat's dream team. However, we have yet to see how their chemistry will be. Howard is the best center in the league, but how bad does he want it? Age and injuries could also come in to play. If they gel and stay healthy they are going to be a mother ****er for the Thunder or Heat to beat. |

Is this classified as "buying a team"?
I would say so... This team is going to be scary good though. Going to be some good basketball played for several years, thunder, lakers, heat. As long as Howard re signs at least Posted via Mobile Device |

Also since Howard is now the best player on that team that cements Kobe at leading his team to 2 titles and LBJ had lead his team to 1 title already. So no more bitching about that either. |

Pau Gasol is the Lakers 4th best player.
Think about that for a second. |

I don't see much difference in a FA signing or a player dictating where he wants to play via trade.

Technically, the Heat completed sign-and-trades for BOTH Chris Bosh and Lebron James.

Dwight and Nash are friends and Kobe used Nash to bridge that gap that is very, very obvious. Kobe practically dictated to the Lakers front office/GM what to do and how to get it done. I'm sure Gasol begged/cried to please be the one that stays as well, since he's a big soft pecker. |
