Well, he said it was going to be different.
Starts at $40k, though. That's impressive. |

The biggest strike against this truck for the worker who works from a pickup is when your out in middle of nowhere something goes wrong with it. Who the hell to call? Your stuck time is money that there seals its fate as a fleet truck. But this isn't the market Elon is after he is looking for the cool factor crowd.

It has a bigger bed and seats more people. It's almost exactly like any current full size short bed crew cab truck, only electric.

I'm guessing this version is not meant to replace the F-350 super duty |

One thing that’s odd about it is that it is so streamlined that it actually looks much lower and smaller than it is. Clearance looks low, headspace looks small, and the bed seems non existent. I imagine that alone is something truck people would have a hard time getting past.

For everyone complaining that it isn't and can never be a work truck: This isn't meant for you.
This is meant for the guys that drive $70,000 fully loaded half tons stuffed with leather seats and trim, bose audio, heating and cooling seats, etc. As somebody said above, think of it as an electric SUV with an open cargo area. |
