*****The Patrick Mahomes Thread*****

IT ****ING HAPPENED

OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

Time will tell. I'm not worried about him just over excited for the day to come he gets his start or just some playing time this season would do him good.

At least Alex Smith has to step up his game now he knows his time is on a shelf.

Good article by Mellinger on Dorsey scouting Mahomes in person at Iowa State. The game Iowa State won 66-10.

This makes me like Mahomes II even more. A gunslinger with true grit.

Nice one- thanks for posting.

Picking 2PM over Watson could be the best move of all time or the new Blackledge curse. So much riding on it.

Dorsey has drafted 3 all pro's, a double-digit sack artist and one of the best pass rushing interior DL in 4 drafts thus far. Ron Wolf's Packers tree has created GM's that drafted Aaron's Rodgers, Russell Wilson and Derek Carr.

I have complete faith in this staff to develop Mahomes into a franchise QB.

The greatness is easy to spot. He just has the look. Unlike couple first round QBs from last year.

So excited for the future of the Chiefs. In spite of the arguments that involve 2PM/Alex, it really is a great time for KC all around, and I am going to remain patient in the whole process. When he is ready, its going to be guns blazin'.

I think they want Pat to play when he can comfortably go out on the field and worry more about what the defense is doing rather than what the offensive play is, and that could take a little while.

If he can go out there in his first start and just let his talents take over rather than having to think about things-- he will be far ahead of other young QBs in the NFL today. I trust that Reid will get it right. My best guess is 2018-- but who knows?

And so will a lot of the teams other stars. The amount of young talent KC has is absurd.

After Hali and DJ are gone, everybody else should continue to get better over the next 5 years.

Trent Green tells me he would be shocked if Mahomes is even the backup this year. He's on @SportsRadio810 at 5:00.

Should we believe this tripe?

I don't think Green is another talking head, but you'd definitely think he would want to see more than one practice to say something like that.

I don't think he's basing this off of what he's seen at practice as he was already saying it before.
