I wonder how big a part of the game plan Benjamin is in? There’s not much film on him here yet. Maybe Andy has a few plays on the menu for him?

Benjamin is likely an inactive because of no special teams.

They were 3-5 on the road and couldn’t beat Pit or Miami which would have locked up the 1 seed for them. They know they do t play well on the toad, and the run ends tonight!

My dumbass making-shit-up prediction:
Patriots try to do more kooky/crazy coverage crap in the first half. Mahomes is ready for that shit this time. As a result, Damien Williams will rip and tear throughout the game, but look damn near unstoppable in the first quarter. The dust will eventually settle. I imagine we'll exchange scores and have a volley back and forth that intensifies all the way up to the end. The Chiefs having an early 10-14 point lead will be the deciding factor in the end. Patriots 27 Chiefs 33 That's my final prediction. Damien Williams gets the game ball for his 22 rushes for 147 yards and two scores. He'll also chip in 6 catches for 40 yards. Mahomes has another modest (by Mahomes standards) kind of day. Something like 24/36 290 yards 2 TDs but 0 INTs this time. Watkins won't jump off the stat sheet but he'll produce and come up with some really important plays down the stretch. Maybe 4 catches and 60 yards or so. Mahomes tosses his 2 TDs to Spencer Ware and Demetrius Harris. Failed 2-point conversion puts it at 33 instead of 35. Butker 2/2 on field goals. Our pass rush will have trouble getting going as Brady/Belichick never quite give up on the run. It isn't until the 4th quarter when we'll see 3 sacks-- Chris Jones, Allen Bailey, and Houston each get one. Sorensen brings in one pick on a tipped pass in the 2nd quarter. We get eaten alive by James White in the 2nd and 3rd quarter. He actually ends up having 10 catches and 90 yards, but our maligned run defense does just enough to prevent Michel from breaking 100 yards. That ends up being the key to the game. |

From my perspective as a Patriots fan, it is kind of a no brainer to try to get Hill the ball in a creative fashion. It would be criminal for Reid not to do that in a post season game that may be close. The question from a Patriots/Chiefs perspective is just when in the game he will try to do so.
I would think BB will try to get more speed on the field in general and risk the Chiefs breaking a few tackles with their running game that could result in 20 yard gains. I may be wrong but I kind of expect Patriots to dare the Chiefs to run. If they get 5-6 yards a whack on first and 2nd down, it may still be worth it since it could create more of an opportunity for penalties/turnovers. And the hope may be the Chiefs lacking patience. . |
