Obviously, he shouldnt have tried to play against the Rams. He chose pride over the Chiefs and his team.

Someone from the Chiefs should have stepped in and said.... your not fully healed, need to sit this one out.Berry has earned that right. He is still loved and respected in the locker room. Watkins is a new player to the team, why does he get to dictate when he plays?

I mean it's not an incorrect conclusion to draw, but we aren't a 100% sure that's the reason he chose to play. He could have been forcing the situation because he thought the Chiefs needed him in a big game.

He's been this way his entire career.

It's a no win situation for the player as far as the fans are concerned. If he doesn't play, half the fans complain the player won't play through pain and is a wuss, if he does play then people complain he wasn't 100% and made things worse.

why do you think Watkins gets to make that decision? You don't think they tested him out during the week and he was fine. I can guarantee you that they did not let him play thinking he wasn't good to go.

Because the Chiefs did it publicly with Berry. A couple of years ago Kelce got to decide when he came back after some tweak he had. I remember Reid saying something to that effect publicly. I dont think thats so unusal. Your star players should decide if they are ready to go if cleared medically.

Watkins was full speed participation prior to re-injuring it again during the game. It is what it is.

I believe Reid said he didn't aggravate the injury any further in the game, not sure if I believe that though.

This is his career in a nutshell. He'll be back when he's ready. At least it's the Raiders and not somebody tougher.

If he looked the way during pregame that he did during the game and they let him play, that's not ideal.

I believe during Rams week he only practiced in limited fashion 1 day and the rest of the week he didn't practice at all.

Best case scenario is he could possibly try to play, but since it's the Raiders they're going to hold him out. Then maybe practice and limited play for Ravens, but hopefully be fully back for Chargers and Seahawks.

Worst case scenario is his foot is ****ed.
