When they rebuilt it, they added concrete barriers called “dolphins” that protect the piers.

I used to commute over the “new” bridge until I started working from home since the pandemic. It’s spectacular.

It was bothering me even as I typed it. I initially put the apostrophe s on it and that didn't look right, so I went with the standard rule of no s if there's already an s. But I'm not sure that looks right either. Maybe nobody has ever used the possessive form of Arkansas, so it's never been finalized.

The pronunciation would be ARK AN SAWS or ARK AN SAW ZIS
I think this is why I like having no second s at the end. It's easier to pronounce Arkan-saws than to add an extra syllable.

So in the case of these losers, basically astrology. Speaking of which, I should really check my horoscope so I know what I'm supposed to be doing today.

Apparently Arkansas passed a bill declaring it to be Arkansas's

I've driven over that bridge several times over the years when down in that area. You're right it's spectacular and as someone who isn't used to something like that I found it a bit unsettling for some reason. When going up it you literally feel like you're driving up towards the sky. It's a little freaky but very cool.

Yeah, but it's Arkansas doing that. That may mean that the proper form is no s.

(I lived in Arkansas for a while as a kid, so I'm allowed to say that.)

I think you should just use Ourkansas.

I live around the corner from the replacement bridge. You can land a 300lb grouper under that bridge.

Don't know if it has been brought up yet, but the Key Bridge was the approved crossing for hazardous materials. They aren't allowed to go through the tunnels on 95 or 895. Not sure how often that comes into play.
