They can’t get open, they drop passes in their hands, their jet sweeps are slow and terrible. These guys are not good.

At this point the kid's looking like Hardman without the top gear. I just don't know what else you can do with him. How does he round a quick-out? These are high school level concepts he's ****ing up. It's so maddening.
The question is how the **** do they keep making the same mistake in scouting WRs? Hardman and then now Moore (plus not taking Higgins)? Rice might finally be the first halfway decent one we've taken, but even then he's probably closer to a good #2 than a true #1 type.

At this point just trade what you have to for Aiyuk or sign Higgins next year, the type of weapon to complement Kelce and eventually become the #1 option sure as hell is never coming from the draft.

For the record, Kelce is on pace for about 850 yards this year. We're starting to see what the offense might look like without our HOF TE and it isn't pretty.

I think after that first pick he got a little timid and didn't trust what he saw. It happens. Happens to the best of them.

2nd round WR's are what they are.

THe odds are, they're gonna end up being more Hardman (was a fine pick and development for what they got) than they are AJ Brown.

The Jets have embarrassed Josh Allen 3X in a row with Zach Wilson starting. No surprise they did it to Patrick. That's a top 5 defense that was giving us their absolute best bc we are the champs.

Only a few teams in the league with a top defense and top QB. In the AFC it's us and maybe the Bills at this point?

We still have the upper hand

I think the Ravens are pretty good but until I see Lamar do it in the playoffs.....I'm a bit skeptical.

We won the game with effectively 30pts (while being -1 in the turnover battle) against a great defense and it wasn't through smoke and mirrors. My guess is the stats will show we were in heavier personnel more than usual which takes some of the focus away from our receivers and puts it on TEs (Gray) and RBs (Pachecho). And both of those guys - particularly the latter - obviously produced in this game.

Mahomes had a subpar game. Some of that was obviously on him, some of it was the Jets defense, and some of it was probably our receivers. We'll see what next week brings, but I don't leave this game feeling any different about this team.

In the past we’ve focused on athleticism and doing a specific job. That mentality needs to change. We need to keep going the rashee route and bring in experienced WRs who have a feel for the position. We don’t even necessarily need elite talent for that to work. At this point I’d rather less athletic but great instincts versus very athletic but has no feel for the position.

The Chiefs usual M.O. when a player is struggling or makes a mistake is to give them a couple of designed plays their way to get the confidence back up. With the exception of Moore. I have no idea what goes on behind the scenes but Moore may have the most negative chemistry of any offensive weapon we have tried to pair with Mahomes. Sucks because I want the kid to succeed.

I don't see how you can watch this team right now and think anything of than it's Kelce + a bunch of dudes.

Skyy is simply not giving us enough. Gray makes a play occasionally but he is not the 3rd rounder we invested in him. Toney looks very good, but the guy is Mr. Glass.

There are some things the Chiefs can do to fix this, that being said.

They aren't doing enough to get MVS involved, and eventually they're going to have to shelve Skyy for Rice. They're going to need to get Montrell Washington involved some as the Z this team desperately needs. And Clyde is getting carries right now to save Pacheco + McKinnon. I imagine that, if at full strength, the RB snaps will be 50/50 Pacheco/McKinnon. And of course, if Toney is healthy, I think this WR room slots in nicely.

The nice thing about having a depth chart this stout, is that you can continue to tinker as the season goes along.

And I think, if I had to predict the depth chart in December, Kelce is getting a lot more snaps, MVS leads the WRs in snaps, Toney is hopefully healthy, and Rice is getting a lot more action with Skyy benched, with Watson rotating in occasionally between the 20s, and Justyn Ross rotating in occasionally in the red zone.

Clyde will get benched, and Pacheco dominates the early down touches while McKinnon dominates the 3rd down touches.

Right now, the Chiefs are tinkering with a group that isn't giving them a lot, but they're throwing them out there against inferior opponents early to see what translates.

But Skyy, Clyde, and Richie James are early candidates for riding the pine in December.

Guarantee Mahomes missed wide open WR's deep again. I don't know why he's not throwing's deep. Every week the all-22 shows it.

Throwing deep is a combination of trusting your tackles and trusting your WRs.

He doesn't trust either a lot right now.

Gray was a 5th rounder, IIRC, and is developing nicely.

CEH is just awful. Just bad bad. THat's a guy that you cut at some point.

I agree with MVS. They need to include some shot plays to the guy.
