50 Beers to Try Before You Die

Thought the beer snobs here might like this article (and probably critique the hell out of it).

http://www.wisdeo.com/articles/view_post/2984
(CBS) You've heard of "100 Bottles of Beer on the Wall"?

How about 50 to try before you die?!
Spoiler!

El Hopadillo Negro from Karbach Brewing company.

Black IPA, just alright.

Phobia, you were in Houston at one point, right? Any Karbachs I should be drinking?

I'll be on the lookout for some. Thanks for keeping me schooled up.

Had this today. Freaking fantastic, and it got better the longer it sat in my glass.

I'm not a big time beer drinker, but this is the best I've ever had.

I had one tonight too. Been drinking it for 15 years. You'll like virtually any Unibroue. Start with Tres Pistoles.

It is. A Walgreens exclusive. Good enough for a float trip or a tailgate. At $2.99 a six pack, you can't beat the price. Not something I would drink regularly, but is surprisingly drinkable.

Carry on.

Nice to know there's some depth I have yet to plumb...

I love this review from Beer Advocate.

Quote:
12oz can, bought at Walgreen's in Snellville GA @ $3.49 a
6pk. Yes its my birthday today so I said to myself, "Wtf,
might as well"! States that this beer is brewed by
"Brewmasters Choice". Honestly I'd rather trust a product
clearly labeled as a Genesee brew than something Ive
never, ever, ever heard of. Served into my Fischers .4l
tulip (Oh yeeeaaa!!)

Pours strait up WEE-WEE color, with a fizzy white 1/2 finger
head that dissipates immediately.

Smells like POOPIE, honestly... Smells like a stew of
rotten veggies soaked in lingering POOT residue, not
regular POOT but a foul intoxicating POOT from a LEGAL AMERICAN CITIZEN who just finished off 2 1/2lbs of HOTDOGS AND CHEESEBURGERS at a ALL American BASEBALL game spiked with rotten olives. I honestly have never smelled a beer like this. I'm wondering if a employee POOTED in this can before the top was slammed on it.

Now im dreading tasting this stuff. Holy cow! Tastes like water with a punch of rotten veggies, closely following the horrid nose. A slight touch of goat WEE-WEE, a wee bit of rotten corn husks, and something else thats definatly beyond freshness date.

The mouthfeel is decent for a adjunct brew, kinda fizzy
with medium carbonation goin on.

Overall, if your homeless and looking for something to
help you throw up that 3 week old burrito you found in
that Taco Bell dumpster this beer is for you. Otherwise
stay away from this beer, its only for the true pennyless
drunk looking for something to keep him/her company while
passing out under the I285/Sandy Springs bridge. Cheers!

Serving type: can

I had a Ratsalad (Imperial IPA) from 2nd Shift Brewery (New Haven, MO) on Monday. I enjoyed it quite a bit and would definitely drink again.

You can't go wrong with 2nd Shift. I also really like El Gato Grande, Art of Neurosis and Albino Pygmy Puma. I know, weird names, but all solid IPAs.

They also have an imperial stout called Liquid Spiritual Delight that is really, really good. And to top that, they do a variant of it with Blueprint coffee that's probably the best coffee stout I've ever had (yes, even better than Bourbon County Coffee).
