It's what Lucas Film, and now Disney, accepts as legitimate events, abilities, locations, etc. etc. If I write a book today that has Rey shooting laser beams out of her eyes, in New York city, fighting off a rough band of Bromies, that would likely not be accepted by Disney as "Canon" in the Star Wars universe and fans should not assume, based on my book, that Rey now has the ability to shoot lasers from her eyes or has ever traveled to New York.
You can find what Disney has accepted as Canon (various books, The Clone Wars animated series, etc.) and what it considers "Expanded Universe" (My book would fall here) online. |

Seems to be what the Jedi do when someone goes rogue and kills all the padawan's in the building. (reference obi-wan and yoda).

This is where I think your problem lies. If you wish to continue enjoying star wars, I really think you need to stop reading fan theories. You have a hard time accepting when your favorite ones are not realized on screen.

If some one would of wrote up Rians ideas on youtube Fan video it would have been slammed for how boring and lame they are. it's why the movie felt like such a punch in the gut. at least the prequels were trying they were dumb as hell but they had heart. This movie was just not star wars to me. |

Dude if Abrams' unoriginal hack-job was something you loved, I truly wonder if you were ever going to like a truly original take on the franchise.

The prequels sucked so much for most people all any one had to do was making a Competent movie and fans were gonna Love it. I just hate the direction in this movie so much it made TFA feel pointless. |

He picked the one back ground choice that makes her entire story arc seem bogus. |

And critics couldn't jack off at the fact he trolled every one which shouldn't be a good thing imo. Also Snoke being either those things would have been awesome. |
