Zero yesterday.. Today isnt over.
First groups are really hard to decoy. Old educated birds.

About 10 days from now, the juvs and young adaults get here. Even then. Snow geese dont decoy like they did 20 years ago.

They definitely have gotten smarter over the years. And waterfowl as a whole have changed their migration habits and timings.

We lost a massive amount of birds today and it's been non stop mile high migrators all the way into the night here, so you should be in the money soon if they slow down long enough.

Lots of options available to you from Leupold, Burris, Vortex and Nikon to name a few. Personally have a couple of Burris Droptines like below on my Remington 597s. Comes with Burris Forever Warranty also.

I have a 597. Shoots the tightest groups of all my 22lr rifles. Trigger group is poor quality and bolt ejector and spring had to be replaced within the first 500 rounds. And the 10 round mags works best with only 8 rounds.
30 round mags are glued together junk.
But for a 129.99 dollars and a little tweaking here and there.(guide rods) i have arguably the most accurate out of the box 22lr ive ever owned..

I've got a good friend who is on a night hunting bender. Shoots coyotes all night and says it's the greatest thing ever. I've not gone with him yet because he's out of state.

That got me into the rabbit hole a little bit and I'm really hankering to go shoot wild pigs at night. I haven't bought any night stuff yet, but I'm thinking pretty hard about it. I'd love to go spend a couple nights mowing down hogs.

Anyone doing this?

You want a geo metro?

I'm not sure but I think 2500-5k? Serious guys are also running silencers and that part isn't cheap either.

We had hoped for something bigger, it just wasn't out there this weekend (one of the few the son will get to hunt given his hockey schedule). And, he also learned why you carry a sidearm when hunting. This time it was that, while he got a clean shot at 38 yards with the bow, it ended up in the shoulder and not the lungs or heart, so he did the ethical thing and ended the pain quickly. I was pretty impressed that I heard the shot before he let me know he got one. By the time I got from the barn (we were stacking recently milled lumber) to where he was, 10-15 minutes, he was almost done with the field dress.

So, not huge, but a great icing to the cake that was a great weekend.
