I don't believe there are plans to redshirt Marshall.

That said, I'm not sure why would would not expect Ballard to have improved between last year and this year. This staff has done nothing but coach guys up since taking over the program. Your basis on Ballard comes solely off of one game, against a good, well-coached KSU team, in his first game ever. Kid was clearly nervous in the first half and settled down pretty well. It's a game we should have won. If Ballard has to come in here and there this year, we will be just fine.

Not necessarily. Sometimes guys can improve a lot from one year to the next in college. I can't see any other reason why the coaching staff would have him as #2. I guess unless the young guys just aren't ready yet.
