*****The Patrick Mahomes Thread*****

IT ****ING HAPPENED

OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

That was a good watch. Thanks for sharing. That said, I caught something that Freeney said. He complained that the Chiefs defense blitzed way too much last year. I have no idea where he got that idea. The Chiefs didn't blitz that often. They led the league in sacks, but they got their pressure without blitzing.

a LOT of these guys 1)don't watch all the games and just repeat shit they hear other people say 2) just because they played doesn't mean they understand the ENTIRE game any better than anyone else. and 3) just aren't the sharpest knives in the drawer necessarily.

I noticed that too...I was like...what the hell are you talking about? It seemed like the Chiefs NEVER blitzed and depended on natural pressure way too much. They SHOULD have blitzed more...

yep, the Chiefs should have blitzed a bit more because their secondary couldn't cover their guys more than 3 seconds. You have to get there quick enough before they have time to get open when you had a secondary like ours. That said, I generally agree that you want natural pressure to get there, you just need the right personnel and scheme to make it work.

Mahomes vs Allen - who can throw farther? We may get to find out:

https://www.thescore.com/nfl/news/17...wing-challenge

Which NFL quarterback has the biggest arm? We could soon find out.

After responding in February to a challenge by quarterback Josh Allen, reigning league MVP Patrick Mahomes confirmed Wednesday he would meet the Buffalo Bills signal-caller to see who can throw a football further.

"Josh is a great dude, but no one that I've known has been able to throw a ball farther than me," Mahomes said at a New York charity event, according to Alex Brasky of the Batavia Daily News. "I've never seen Josh throw in person but maybe next offseason we can set something up (to see who can throw further). Hopefully, I can get him to come down to Kansas City, and we can do something for charity. It's going to take at least 85 yards to win."

While he may be considered the underdog by some, Allen used his rocket-powered arm to throw downfield more than any other passer in 2018.

However, Mahomes tore apart defenses downfield like few before him in his first season as a starter. He previously claimed to have thrown a football 85 yards (with wind assistance), while Allen tossed 80-yarders with apparent ease at his Pro Day last year.

If the two young pivots can't get together this offseason, a faceoff would be an epic finale to next year's Pro Bowl Skills Showdown.

Anyone has seen Mike Clay's 2019 season projections?

He has Mahomes at 34 TDs, 11 INTs, over 4500 yards.

That's not bad.

I could see that if Hill wasn’t around but with him, hard to see less than 40 TDs IMO

I believe that 34 TDs was the highest in that list so while it isn't 50 TD, it's still more than anyone else.
